Officer's Job Descriptions

Lodge Chief
The chief is responsible for running lodge business meetings and for representing the lodge at the chiefs' council segment of all section meetings. He is expected to attend all lodge functions, as well as council and section functions in which the lodge takes an active part, such as the conclave, summer camp, and scout shows. The chief should get to know all unit leaders and sit in on council round table meetings. He should keep up with the rate of progress of his officers and the committees.

Vice-Chief(1st)Camping

The vice-chief is in charge of directly overseeing outdoors promotions. He must keep in touch with the committee heads for Camping Promotions, Camporee, Conclave and WEBELOS Woods and make sure they are doing their jobs. He is expected to attend section meetings, or to send one member of the Camping Promotions committee in his place to represent the lodge at the Section Meetings.  The vice-chief assists the lodge chief, and stands in for him when he is not present.

 Vice-Chief (2nd) - Membership (Proposed)

The vice-chief is in charge of directly overseeing membership activities. The vice-chief oversees unit elections and makes sure they are conducted early and properly. He is also responsible for Brotherhood Conversion and the Elangomat/Nimat Program.  He must keep in touch with the committee heads for the Lodge Fellowships, Ordeal Weekend and Lodge Banquet. The vice-chief assists the lodge chief, and stands in for him when he or the 1st Vice Chief are not present. He is an alternate to attend the Section Meetings.

 Secretary

The secretary will take minutes at each lodge business meeting and send them out to all active lodge members. He will publish at least four newsletters each year, and will be sure to notify all active members at least fifteen days before lodge meetings or elections. The secretary is the head of the publications committee, which is responsible for newsletters, publishing an annual planbook, maintaining the lodge’s website and working with the Camping Promotions committee producing a “Where to Go Camping” book. The secretary is expected to attend section meetings, or to send one member of the publications committee in his place to represent the lodge at the publications segment of these meetings.

Treasurer
He shall keep all financial materials in connection with the lodge. He shall report to the Chiefs council at least four (4) times a year and shall report to the lodge membership at each business meeting. He is in charge of all lodge fundraisers. The treasurer in also responsible for the inventory, orders, and sales of all lodge and OA items. He is an alternate to attend the Section Meetings.
