Order of the Arrow Kaweah Lodge 379
Alameda Council B.S.A - Alameda, CA

Goals & Objectives For 2007-2008

The Lodge's level of service to the council is at a new high, serving as host for the council’s annual Camporee, providing staff members for all of our council’s summer camps and providing  $400 in camperships to help  scouts of all ages go to camp.

The following is a list of goals the lodge officers have set for the year, followed by the objectives which have been set for achieving these goals.

 1. Maintain strong lodge meeting attendance.

Last year's lodge meetings reached attendance figures not seen in the lodge for years. To maintain these figures the lodge must:

·        Mail publications earlier, and more often.

·        Improve the lodge phone tree.

·        Come up with original meeting ideas, in order to increase individual interest in attending the meetings.

2. Strengthen Lodge financial condition.

·  Annual dues must be collected from all members to be registered in 2008.

·  Hold fund raisers, and promote the sale of lodge items.

3. Improve our W3A Most Indian Lodge and Conclave award scores.

·        Improve camp promotions.

·        Maintain strong performance at Conclave events. Maintain strong ceremonies and dance teams. Hold a seminar open to the entire section.

·        Send 11 arrowmen to the Conclave.

4. Improve Camporee and serve on camp staff.

Our lodge is fortunate in some respects in that our council has just one summer camp. Unlike other lodges we do not need to divide our efforts among various camps, allowing us to make a concentrated attempt at improving our Councils Summer Camp Program. Next summer the lodge hopes to:

·           Have at least ten arrowmen on staff.

·           Put on a pow-wow for each session of camp.

·           Send to camp a well practiced, impressive ceremonies team.

·           Complete the lodge's ceremony grounds, thus improving ceremonies.

·           Visit every troop and WEBELOS den promoting Summer camp

5. Make the Order more enjoyable for Arrowmen.

·        Prepare a fun and informative activity for each lodge business meeting in       which all can participate.

·        Schedule weekend events, such as raft and ski trips

·        Increase lodge participation at the 2006 Conclave.

6. Increase participation at WEBELOS Woods.

·           Come up with more original program ideas.

·            Contact WEBELOS earlier, and improve publicity both before and after the    event.
